Rites held for pioneer resident.


Services for Alex Anderson, 68 year old Vernon resident who passed away Sunday were held Monday morning at the Henderson Funeral Home wit Rev. A. J.Birnbaum, pastor of the St. Paul Lutheran Church officiating. Burial was in Wilbarger Memorial Park.


Mr.Anderson died in his home at 3920 Wichita after a three week illness.The prominent retired farmer was born in Gibson City Ill. In 1868. He came to Wilbarger County in 1886 and lived on a farm near Vernon until a year ago.


Survivors include a wife, two sons, G. W. and C. H. Anderson, Vernon, one daughter, Mrs. Janet Showers, Harrold, three sisters, Mrs Annie Taylor, Mrs. Esther Judd, Vernon, Mrs Mamie Magness, Edinburg,Texas, one brother, Dewey Anderson, Vernon, and two grandsons, Eddie Showers and John Allen Anderson.
