Services for Charlie Nolan Ashley, age 71, of Lufkin, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Leonard Ward and Rev. Jon Watson officiating. Burial will be in the Whitehouse Cemetery.
Mr. Ashley died Thursday, October 5, in a Lufkin hospital.
He was born January 30, 1918, in Louisiana. He had lived in Lufkin for the past 12 years and was a former resident of Houston. He was a member of the Oak Grove Assembly of God and the Keenagers Dept.
Survivors: wife, Alda Ashley; sons, Raymond Ashley, Andrew Ashley; daughters, Patsy Jean Ashley, Helen Foster and Glenda Sorrels; step-daughters, Judy Honeycutt and Reva Solly; step-sons, Glendyl Griffin and Gary Griffin; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; mother, Christina Ashley of Rayville, Louisiana; brothers, Dennis Ashley, Gene Ashley, Lee Ashley; sister, Marie Haynes; numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be men of the Keenagers Dept. of Oak Grove Assembly of God.
