Wesley "Dunk", born in Allentown to Ellie Wilson (Burns) and Louellon Thomas Allen, passed away Thursday in a local hospital.
He resided in Allentown all his life. He served in the United States Army during World War II, was an avid fisherman and hunter, a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather and a member of Allentown United Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include his wife of sixty five years, Frances Allen; daughter and son-in-law, Ellie and Gerald Crump; sons and daughters-in-law, Wesley Allen, Jr. and Barbara, Bobby Frank and Rebecca Allen; ten grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Robert Allen, Keith Jones, Bobby Jones, Bobby (Bubba) Allen, Gerald Crump, Jr., and Richard Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Allen, Todd Dailey, John Beauchamp, Bryan Fraley and Jed von Heimburg. The family would like to thank special caregivers, Tammy and Cliff Lewis. And also, a special thank you to the staff of NStep and Grace Care Center.
Funeral services will be held in the Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ray Pinner, Reverend Ronnie Frankens, and Reverend Bud Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery.
