Ella M. Arthaud,82, of Palmyra and formerly of Anamosa, Iowa, died at 1:05 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2001 at Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Palmyra.

Graveside services were officiated by the Rev. Glen Yoder.

Mrs. Arthaud was born Sept. 6, 1918, in Wellington, Kan., to Cecil E. and Anna Headley Thomas.

She was married to Ora T. Arthaud on Oct. 1, 1944, in Wichita, Kan. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include one son, Donald Lee Arthaud; and two sisters, Louise Berkhardt of South Haven, Kan., and Marjorie Carroll of Philadelphia, Mo.

The family requested survivors listed include her brothers-in-law, Elmer Berkhardt of South Haven and Kent Carroll of Philadelphia; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Leslie Thomas, George Thomas and Clarence Thomas; and two sisters, Margaret Severs and Anna Marie Thomas.

Mrs. Arthaud was a homemaker. She was a Baptist by faith. She was a 1937 graduate of Wellington, Kan., High School.

She had been a 4-H club leader. She enjoyed craft work and had been honored for her sewing projects.

Pallbearers ere David Carroll, Duane Carroll, Darwin Carroll, Dale Carroll, Don Hickman and Lloyd Keeney.
