"GUNSHOT WOUND FATAL TO WOMAN
Mrs. Mary Clark, 67, died at her home, a mile and a half from Mt. Washington, at 8:30 Monday night from a wound inflicted by Dominick Gyr, a dairyman, who shot Mrs. Clark and his wife at his home Saturday morning and who later was killed by a Sheriff's posse while resisting arrest. Gyr shot Mrs. Clark in the left side after he had wounded his wife.
Mrs. Clark had attempted to act as a peacemaker between Gyr and his wife. Mrs. Gyr had been staying with Mrs. Clark since Thursday. Saturday morning the two women went to the Gyr home. Mrs. Clark had often patched up domestic differences between Gyr and his wife and in hopes of smoothing over the latest trouble accompanied Mrs. Gyr.
Mrs. Clark was the widow of James Clark, and lived on her farm about half a mile below the Gyr farm. She is survived by three sons, Lee, Martin and William Clark. The funeral will be held at 10 o"clock tomorrow morning at the Mt. Washington Methodist church and Burial will be in the Catholic Cemetery at that place.
The condition of Mrs. Gyr took a turn for the worse Monday and it is feared that she has little chance of recovery. Gyr was buried Monday afternoon in his wife's lot at St Louis Cemetery.”
