The Rev. Benjamin Franklin Alley, 73, died Sunday July 21 at his home. Funeral services were to be held today at 2 p.m. at Durham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. W.B. Bingham, the Rev. John Partin and the Rev. James Pinkley officiating. Burial was to be in the Resthaven Cemetery, Loyall, Ky.

Alley was the former pastor of several Southern Baptist churches in the Tri-state area and was a well known evangelist. He was the brother of Mrs. Mable Phipps and Mrs. Nola Whitaker of Middlesboro. At the time of his death, Alley was a member of the Moss Chapel Baptist Church, Log Mountain. Alley was a past member of the UMWA-AFL-CIO and the Binghamtown Baptist Church here. He was the former pastor of the Southern Baptist Church and Bethel Baptist Church, both of Detroit, Mich.and Molus, Garmeda, Laurel Hill, Straight Creek, Byrd's Branch, Tanyard Hill and Oakdale Baptist Churches in this area.

Alley is survived by his widow, Lena Louise Alley, Pineville; two sons, Benjamin Earl Alley of Abington, Va. and Howard Franklin Alley, Dearborn, Mich.; three daughters, Mrs. Mayme Louise Stewart, Detroit, Mrs. Ruby Cheek, Dearborn, Mich., and Mrs. Frona May Miller, Taylor, Mich.; another sister, Mrs. Hazel Katron, Williamsburg; three brothers, Alden Alley, Leitchfield, Ky., John Alley, Apopka, Fla., and Foley Alley of Corbin; 24 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
