She and her parents emigrated from Bavaria and first settled in Ohio, where she married John Albert in 1843. They had six children as identified in the John and Margaret Albert family history in the 1973 Centennial booklet of St. Mary's Miriam Catholic Church. Their childrens' surname often is spelled Alberts.
