Katharine I. Baker, 98, died Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at Rest Haven Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, York. She was the wife of the late T. Herbert Baker.
Born April 1, 1911, in Millers, Md., she was the daughter of the late Alpheus and Elizabeth (Wagner) Stiffler.
Mrs. Baker retired in the 1970's from the former Charles G. Summers, Jr., Inc., New Freedom, and previously worked for the former York County Sewing Company, New Freedom. Katharine was a member of the former Steltz Reformed Church and enjoyed gardening and being a homemaker.
She is survived by a daughter, Norma K. Brown of Shrewsbury; two sons, Herbert J. Baker of Shrewsbury and Gene L. Baker of York; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
Interment will be in Joseph Giesey Memorial Cemetery, Shrewsbury.
