SHREWSBURY Arlene R. (Sterner) Allison, 92, died Monday, January 28, 2008, at York Hospital, following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Truman E. Allison. Burial will be in Geisey Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Allison was born June 16, 1915, in Codorus Township, a daughter of the late Aaron C. and Annie Rebecca (Miller) Sterner. She had been employed as a seamstress for many years at the Shrewsbury Manufacturing Company and several other local sewing companies. Mrs. Allison had also worked at the former Charles G. Summers Canning Company in New Freedom. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ and of the Shrewsbury Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Allison leaves a daughter, Barbara A. Kochenour and her husband, William of York; two sons, Richard Allison of Shrewsbury and Glenn L. Allison of Smoketown, Lancaster Co.; five grandchildren, Christine Aument and her husband, Mark, Alicia Kolber and her husband, Tim, Jodi Sarver and her husband, Wade, Michelle Allison, and Derek Allison and his wife, Debbie; five great-grandchildren, Naomi Bryner, Shane and Dylan Sarver, and Kyle and Owen Kolber; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Krout; and by a brother, Clarence Sterner. Published in the York Daily Record & York Dispatch on 1/30/2008.
