Ralph K. Cox, Jr., of Melbourne, FL, formerly of Glen Rock, PA and Snyder, NY, died April 19, 2013 in Melbourne, FL.
Ralph was born October 12, 1940 in Codorus Township, York County, the son of the late Ralph K. Cox, Sr. and Minnie L. (nee Kiser) Cox of York.
He was a 35-year employee of US Airways. Following his retirement, he began an aviation accident consulting firm, training several major airlines in crisis management.
After moving to Florida in 1995, Ralph joined the Penny Creek bluegrass band as their lead singer, and he released a successful solo bluegrass CD. He also enjoyed golfing, and played in major airline tournaments in Australia and Puerto Rico. Ralph was a 50-year member of Shrewsbury Lodge No. 423 F&AM.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by daughters, Leslie Garcia and husband, John of Amherst, NY and Deborah Mercurio and husband, Michael of Hamburg, NY; stepchildren, Diane Antle and husband, Paka of Melbourne, FL and Brian Andruscik and wife, Jane of Carnegie; and eight grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., May 25, 2013, at Joseph Giesey Memorial Cemetery, Shrewsbury, with The Rev. Dr. Brenda J. Kiser of Memorial Lutheran Church in Shippensburg officiating. Masonic rites will be offered by Shrewsbury Lodge No. 423 F&AM. A memorial celebration of Ralph's life will also be held in Melbourne, FL.
