Annie Mae Baker, 91, St. Augustine, died July 31, 2000, in Flagler Hospital. She was a lifelong resident of St. Augustine, and she was a member of Palmo Church of God. Mrs. Baker was the daughter of the late Sammy Lee and Patience McMillen, and she was the wife of the late Clarence J. Baker. They were parents of six children, five of whom preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at New St. James Missionary Baptist Church, the Rev. Nathaniel Jackson, pastor; with the Rev. Charles Ferguson officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at Chase and Son Funeral Home chapel from 5 to 9 p.m., Friday, and at the church from noon Saturday until the hour of services.
The cortege will assemble at 956 Puryear St. at 12:30 p.m. Saturday.
Survivors include one daughter, Naomi Washington, St. Augustine; 32 grandchildren including Mrs. Freddie Verdell (Horace), St. Augustine; 146 great-grandchildren, 116 great-great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, including Raymond (Sybil) Fisher and Essie Mae Davis, all of St. Augustine; brother and sisters-in-law, Mary (Robert) Wiggins and Elder James Willie Baker (Quiller) and the Rev. John D. (Mary) Williams, all of St. Augustine.
Chase and Son Funeral Home is in charge.
