Dr. Robert M. Ballagh, age 76, of Palm Beach Gardens, passed away suddenly on May 30, 2012. Robert was born and raised in Des Moines, IA. He received his BA and MS degrees from the University of Iowa and his PhD in teacher education from The Ohio State University. He taught several years at the City University of New York before becoming the founder/headmaster of the Edison-Russell School in Palm Beach Gardens, where he was known as "Dr B".
Robert was predeceased by his parents, Maurice and Wynona Ballagh and his only brother, James P. Ballagh. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Maureen (Kocak) Ballagh and his adoring companion "Mooch". In addition, he leaves to cherish his memory two adopted sons, Kent Gadell and Scott Ballagh of TX, Carla & Gerard Lange (NY), John Paradis (CT), Judy LaRue, Doug Long, Scott & Patti Arnold, all of FL, as well as numerous other friends and former students.
A private service will be held at a later date.
