She was born on June 18, 1922 in Canonsburg, Washington County Pennsylvania to Cecil Warren Beal and Mabel Minila Taylor, the second of four children. Charles Alonzo Beal, her older brother, Robert Lafalette Beal her younger brother and Ethel Mae Beal her younger sister. In June of 1942 she graduated Chamberlin Vocational School and started working to help support the family. On a weekend outing to Washington DC, she and her sister Ethel met two sailors on a city bus and they went to see the sites in the city. Ethel was with the taller, lankier of the two and Betty was with the one with a southern drawl. By the end of the day they had switched and Betty had met the love of her life, William Thomas Beers. After a whirlwind courtship, Betty and Bill were married in Arlington Virginia on December 24, 1942.Their first child Shirley Elizabeth Beers was born on August 20, 1943, followed by their second child Sandra Jean Beers on October 8,1944. After the war's end the had their third child Tommie Lou Beers on December 6, 1947. In the early 1950's Bill switched services and enlisted in the newly formed US Air Force where they had their fourth child William Thomas Beers II. William And Betty remained in the Air Force until his retirement in December 1969 when they moved to Florida and settled in Boynton Beach Florida where they lived until he passed away on February 9, 2002. Betty continued to live in Boynton Beach until Hurricane Wilma destroyed her home in October of 2005. She then moved to Brandon Florida where she continued her independent life until medical conditions caused her to move in with her son where she remained until her death on July 21, 2013.She was the last of her family to pass,she is survived by her four children, eleven grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren. One grandchild, Christopher Derrick Rust preceded her in death. She was buried in the mausoleum at Palm Beach Memorial Park in Lantana Florida
