Obituary:
Billy Joe Allred, 57, died Sunday at his home following a brief illness.
A native of Alabama, he had lived in Hollister for the past 33 years, coming from Pikeville, Ky. He was a heavy equipment operator with Cremer Wood Inc.
He was preceded in death by his Jeffrey Allen Allred.
According to his daughter, ruby Katheryn Hars, Connie Elijah Allred was NOT his biological father.
He is survived by his wife, Evolene Allred of Hollister; his mother, Dovie Allred of Delmar, Ala.; three daughters, Ruby Kathryn Hars and Evelyn Le Verne Wright, both of Interlachen, and Jessica Marie Keck of Apopka; a son, Billy Geroid Allred of Hollister; two sisters, Barbara Allred of Alabama and Ruby Southerland of Delmar, Ala.; a brother, Connie E. Allred Jr. of Delmar, Ala.; and five grandchildren.
Friends may call 6-9 p.m. today at Masters Funeral Home in Palatka. A wake will be held beginning at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Naomi Old Regular Baptist Church in Hollister. Services will be at 1- a.m. Thursday at the church with Elders Zeke Branham and Gene Ratliff officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. (Palatka Daily News Obituary dtd 2 Feb 1993.)
