MOTHER OF A. BAILEY DIES AT AGE OF 89
Funeral rites for Mrs. Susan Ann Bailey were held Monday afternoon at the late home in Milton township just over the line in Cass county. Mrs. Bailey, who had been bedfast since February 1934, was the mother of Andrew Bailey, well known Pipestone township farmer.
The Rev. John H. Balfour of the Coloma Community church officiated at the service. Burial was made in Barron Lake cemetery. Six grandchildren served as pallbearers.
Mrs. Bailey was born February 1, 1847, in Troy, N.Y., her parents being *Joseph and Minerva Knapp. When she was 11 years old the family settled in Milton township, Cass county, where she spent the remaining 78 years of her life. Mrs. Bailey died early Saturday morning at her late home leaving 61 descendants. She was the widow of the late Byron S. Bailey, who died in 1901.
Surviving are three sons and three daughters--Andrew Bailey, Eau Claire; George Bailey and Mrs. Myrtle Crumb, Niles; Mrs. Laura Gilbert, at home; Mrs. Ida Lewis, Coloma, and Sterling Bailey, South Bend; 10 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren.
