David T. Beightol, Jr., 83, of Sioux City passed away Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004, at his residence.
Services will be 3 p.m. Friday at Community United Methodist Church in Sergeant Bluff, with the Rev. Arnette Pint officiating. Burial will be in Woodbury Township Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today at Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff.
David was born Oct. 20, 1921, in Cooperstown, PA, the son of David and Anna (Whitman) Beightol. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
He was united in marriage to Bonnie Ann Fuller in Sioux City. She passed away in 1997. He owned and operated MarBon Communications and retired in 1994.
He was an active member of Morningside Masonic Lodge 615 and Abu Bekr Shrine Temple, where he participated in the Shrine Cycle Corps. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. In his later years, he also enjoyed woodworking.
He is survived by three sons, Tom Beightol and his special companion, Mickie Gleiser of Sioux City, Garry Beightol and his wife Bonnie of Conifer, Colo., and Dean Beightol and his wife, Michele of Superior, Colo., seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three half-brothers, Richard "Dick" Beightol and John Beightol both of Cooperstown, PA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bonnie; a son, Larry; and a half sister, Jane Ruditis.
Pallbearers will be Eugene Kelly, Lyle McMillian, Bob Kelly, Jerry Hesse, David Beightol and Gary Sisco.
