Lexington - On July 30, 2009, Robert "Bobby" L. Areheart, 58, made the glorious trip home to be with his savior. He was a loving man who loved his family and music. An original member of the local band named Mercedes; he performed at many of the local venues in the Columbia area and recorded an album in the mid 1960's. Mr. Areheart is survived by his mother, Mary Helen B. Areheart; son, James Jason Areheart; sister, Debbie Bell; niece, Angela Bell Docherty (Howard); nephew, Michael Bell; two great-nieces and one great-nephew. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Zion Lutheran Church, 226 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, SC 29072. Mr. Areheart was predeceased by his father, Robert L. Areheart; grandparents, Robert T. and Ruth Areheart and his brother, Aubrey Brooks Areheart. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2009, at Zion Lutheran Church with interment in the church cemetery.
