A native of Union County, he was the son of the late Ernest Eugene Adams Sr. and Ethel Johns Adams. He was a member of Croft Baptist Church where he was a deacon and a choir member and was retired from Crosrol after more than 25 years. He was a 1947 graduate of Union High School and was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Ola Pruitt Adams of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Carol A. and Tommy Parker of Spartanburg; a son, Richard D. Adams of Seneca; two grandsons, Zachary and Brian Parker of Spartanburg; three brothers, Ernest E. Adams Jr. of Union, Donald D. Adams of Taylors, and the Rev. William C. Adams of Spartanburg; two sisters, Athalee A. Lomas of Spartanburg and Doris A. Mitchell of Columbia; Mr. Adams was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph W. Adams.
Funeral service will be held today, Feb. 7, at 2 p.m. at Croft Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Kevin Phillips, the Rev. William Adams and the Rev. Wilkes Skinner. Music was provided by: pianist - Merri Morrell and singer - Steve Skinner. The family will receive friends following the church service. Committal service will follow at 4 p.m. at Union Memorial Gardens in Union, S.C.
