Perfecta "Bertha" S. Aragón, age 74, a resident of Belén, passed away on August 4, 1998 in an Albuquerque hospital after a brief illness.
Bertha was preceded in death by her first husband, Adrian Márquez in 1962, her son, who passed away at birth, Florenio Márquez and daughter-in-law, Annie Márquez.
Bertha is survived by her husband of 16 years, Danny Aragón of the family home in Belén, her children, Manuel Márquez of Barstow, CA, Gloria Hunter and her husband, Allen of Riverside, CA, Jerry Márquez and his wife, Rosa, Martín Márquez and his wife, Martina and Patricia Brentz and her husband, Jimmy, all of Belén. Also surviving are her brothers, Edwardo Sáiz and his wife, Ursula, Anastacio Sáiz and his wife, Sefie, all of Barstow, CA, Fernandez Sáiz and his wife, Maggie of Long Beach, CA and Leo Sáiz and his wife, Barbara of Belén, sisters, Odelia Gonzáles and her husband, Manuel and Carol Gabaldón and her husband, Ernie, all of Belén, 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be held on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Romero Funeral Home. Rosary will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Deacon Norbert Sánchez officiating. Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Fr. David Gallegos on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at San Antonio Catholic Church in Casa Colorada. Interment will follow in the Casa Colorada Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Manuel Gonzáles, Raymond Martin, Peter Martin, Ernie Gabaldón, Michael Márquez and Vidal Ortega.
