Mr. Barnes, husband of the late Betty Raley Barnes, died Friday, Oct. 10, 2008. Born in Camden, he wa a son of the late Ben Wilson and Altha Hough Barnes. He served in the United States Navy and retired as a warrant officer from the United States National Guard. He was a life member of Masonic Lodge No. 29 and enjoyed woodworking.

Mr. Barnes was a member of Rowan Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are his daughter, Becky Geiger of Lugoff; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Evelyn Barnes of Charleston and George Edward and Lois Barnes of Charlotte, N.C.; sisters, Clarine Mozingo of Bishopville and Mary Gardner of Camden; aunt, Edwilla Ham of Camden; and grandchildren, Lauren Geiger and Bobby Geiger.
