Effie Ariail Adams, resident of Emerald Gardens, formerly of 447 Grace Street, widow of Edgar D. Adams, died April 17, 2006 at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Troy, she was a daughter of the late Albert Harrison and Mary Caldwell Ariail. She served in the Women?s Army Corps during WW II and retired as a supervisor at Greenwood Manufacturing Company.
A member of Main Street United Methodist Church, she was also a member of the Upper Room Sunday School Class and the UMW of the church. She was also a member of the Narcissus Garden Club and the Cheerio Club.
Surviving are three nephews, Charles D. Price of Burlington, NC, Randy Ariail and Edward Ariail, both of Greensboro, NC; one niece, Nancy Ariail of Las Vegas, NV.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am Friday at Main Street United Methodist Church with Rev. James R. Dennis officiating.
Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Charles Maloney, Sonny Hines, Brabham Dukes, Billy Dukes, Robert Cureton and Pierce Stockman .
Honorary escort will be Christine Hammond, Karla Gray, Kat Gray, Lee Robards and Nell Dorn.
The family will receive friends in the Trinity Classroom of Main Street United Methodist church from 10 to 11 Friday morning.
