Landrum - Mrs. FRANCES ELIZABETH CLAYTON BARNETTE, 77, died about 4:30 Wednesday afternoon at her home on Landrum Route 2, in the Ebenezer-Welcome Community. She had been in declining health for several months. Mrs. BARNETTE is survived by her husband, CHARLES ERVIN BARNETTE; 4 daughters, Mrs. TESSIE CAMPBELL, Mrs. ALTA BOSWELL and Mrs. SALLIE DILL all of Landrum Route 2, and Mrs. INEZ McBRIDE of Fayetteville, NC; five sons, JAMES VERNON, CLARENCE L. and CARL D. BARNETTE, all of Greer, JERRY BARNETTE of Salisbury, NC, and JOHN EARL BARNETTE of Landrum Route 2; 2 brothers, JOSEPH CEPHAS CLAYTON, Sr. of Gray Court and RUFUS EDWARD CLAYTON of Campobello Route 2; one half-brother FURMAN CLAYTON of Greer; one sister, Mrs. NANCY ANN PRUITT of Inman; one half-sister, Mrs. DELLA BURRIS of Welford; 21 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Mrs. BARNETTE was a member of Ebenezer-Welcome Baptist Church near Landrum. A native of Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late JAMES SOLOMON and CAROLYN BRUCE CLAYTON.
