Prosperity - David Rudolph "D.J." Bedenbaugh Jr., 35, died Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at his residence. Born January 8, 1975, in Newberry, he was a son of David Rudolph Bedenbaugh Sr. and Cheryl Reeves Bedenbaugh. He was employed with the S.C. Department of Education as a school bus mechanic. Mr. Bedenbaugh was a member of Colony Lutheran Church where he was a member of the Congregational Council, Lutheran Men in Mission, the property committee, Sunday school treasurer and Children's Ministry co-director. He was the 2006 Heartland Conference Young Lutheran Man of the Year. Surviving in addition to his parents, David and Cheryl Bedenbaugh, is his wife, Michelle Bunn Bedenbaugh; a son, David Rudolph "Trey" Bedenbaugh III; daughter, Tommie Leigh Bedenbaugh; an unborn child due in September; and a sister, Holly B. (Michael) Wessinger. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 2010, at Colony Lutheran Church by the Rev. Jerry L. Trantham. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. The family would like to give special thanks to the Newberry EMS, Prosperity and Fairview Rescue Squads, Harmony Care Hospice, Newberry Infusion, Newberry Hospital Emergency Room, Bobby Stephens, Prince Mitchell, and all our friends and family who supported us through this journey. © The State, Columbia, SC, 29 Apr 2010
