Hollis Samuel Atkins, 81, of 102 Dukes St, Blacksburg, S.C. passed away Thursday, May 12, 2016, at Mary Black Gaffney.

Born in Blacksburg, S.c. he was the widower of Ruby Bingham Atkins and the son of the late John Atkins and Ruby Davis Atkins.

He worked in the pulpwood industry before retirement. He attended Tabernacle Church of God.

He is survived by his nephew, David Mills, of Inman, S.C. and other nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Clyde, Willie, Eugene, Ralph, James Atkins and sisters Pauline Mills and Lula Mills.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 17, 2016, from 2 - 3 p.m. at Gordon Mortuary, 400 West Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, S.C. 29702.
Funeral services will immediately follow at 3 p.m. at Gordon Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow at Clingman Memorial Gardens.
