Mr. Paul Eugene "Pete" Adams II, 60, of Baton Rouge died Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at Ochsner Hospital in Baton Rouge after a brief illness.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a retired U S Naval Petty Officer, with sixteen years of service and was a Vietnam veteran. During his naval career, he served aboard the destroyer USS Brinkley Bass, the USS Blue Ridge stationed in Japan and was a member of the commissioning crew of the aircraft carrier, the USS Theodore Roosevelt in Norfolk, Virginia. He also retired from East Baton Rouge City Parish.

Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government Street, Baton Rouge, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2010 and from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. prior to services on Saturday, March 13, 2010. Religious Service at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government Street, Baton Rouge, at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 13, 2010, conducted by Chris Andrews. Interment at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge.

Survivors include his father and step mother, Paul Eugene and Carrie Adams of McAlister, Oklahoma; sister, Paula Adams Toups and her husband, Joseph Redditt Toups of Baton Rouge; nieces, Tia Kristine Toups Washer, her husband, Thomas Dave Washer and their son, Donovan Redditt Washer of Louisville, Kentucky, Paula Katherine Toups of Baton Rouge; nephew, Joseph Davis Toups of New Orleans; first cousin, Sharon Knight Knotts and her husband, Walter Knotts.

Preceded in death by mother, Tia Juana Woods Adams; Aunt and Uncle, Louis and Billie Jean Knight.

Pallbearers will be Earl Bonds of New Orleans, Gene Mitchell, Baton Rouge, Donald Pospisil of Alexandria, Greg Robichaux, Baton Rouge, Randy Saucier, Baton Rouge, Joseph Davis Toups of New Orleans, Joseph Redditt Toups of Baton Rouge, Thomas Dave Washer, Louisville, Kentucky.

Honorary Pallbearers, Dave Williams, Oklahoma, Rick Bernstrom, Texas, Mayo "Buddy" Blackmon, Florida, Dean Nida, Ohio, Tom Hunt, Tennessee.

Mr. Adams received an Associates Degree from Oklahoma State Univ, Tech, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 1978. He completed the Navy Leadership Program as an honor student and was an instructor while assigned to the USS Theodore Roosevelt in Norfolk, Virginia.

Honors: Navy Achievement Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, National Defense Medal, Several Good Conduct Medals and Commendations.

Special interests: He was an active member of the Patriot Guard, who ride their motorcycles with United States Flags for the funeral processions of fallen soldiers and veterans.
