Rhoda Ann "Lizzie" Veazey, daughter of Zachary Taylor Veazey and Rhoda Ann Louvenia Hunt, the 3rd of 13 children was born 17 Jan 1874 in Tallapoosa Co, Al. Only one of her siblings died before becoming an adult.

Rhoda Ann "Lizzie" Veazey married Hiram Walker Allen in Tallapoosa Co, AL on Sunday, September 30, 1894. The wedding was held at 10:00 AM on Sunday, September 30, 1894 in the home of her parents. Justice of the Peace James K. Polk Vickers officiated. This was a double ceremony, the other couple being Robert W. Jones & Mary Hart "Mollie" Veazey.

In 1903, the family and their four children moved to Union Parish, Louisiana. They were tenant farmers, searching for a suitable home, until Dec.1908 when they bought their home in Linville, Union Parish, Louisiana.
