Loney John was born in Big Lake on October 26, 1927 to the late Ovey and Azelia Credeur Babineaux and was called to his Heavenly Father November 4, 2011. Loney served his country honorably in the United States Army. He also worked in the oil field nearly all of his life until his retirement. During his time home, he loved spending it with his beloved family and friends. He also enjoyed watching western movies, and doing some hunting and fishing. Loney was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
He was survived by his loving wife of 27 beautiful years, Betty Breaux Babineaux of Jennings; three sons, Darren Stelly (Crystal) of Lacassine, David Stelly (Amanda) of Jennings, and Houise Babineaux (Sandy) of Westlake; three daughters, Karen Encinas (Miguel) of Jennings, Margaret Babineaux of Fort Worth, TX, and Marlyn Sue Barbier (Tommy) of Crowley; 20 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. Loney shared his life with some special friends he held dear: William and Yvonne Mott, Keith Cradeur, Douglas Amie, Leola Leger, Miss Jeanelle, and his special angels, Bethanie, Miguel, Cody, Gabriel, Heather, Roari, Heath, and Emma.
Loney was welcomed into Heaven by the family whom preceded him in death: his parents, Ovey and Azelia C. Babineaux; three children, Cheryl Fuselier, Lowanna Artman, and L.J. Babineaux Jr.; and 1 brother, Mervin Babineaux; 1 grandson, Brandon Babineaux; and 1 special adopted son, Clifton Moore.
