Natividad Zapata Casarez was born on Christmas Day of 1909 in Castanos Coahuila, Mexico to Dametrio and Dametria (Lumbreras) Zapata. She has lived all of her life in Rockdale. She worked as a homemaker and field laborer working the family land. Mrs. Casarez was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rockdale and enjoyed gardening and working in her flower garden. In 1936, she and Lucio Jimenez Casarez were married. Five children were born to this union.
Mrs. Casarez passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2013 in the Richards Memorial Hospital in Rockdale.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; daughter, Julia C. Contreras on May 18, 2011; two sisters, Epifania Aldama and Flaudia Zapata and one brother, F.L. Zapata.
Survivors are; Two sons, Sabas Z. Cazarez of Grand Prairie and Carlos Zapata Casarez of Rockdale. Two daughters, Angelina Lopez of Rockdale and Christina Casarez Bustamante of Luling. 15 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service are scheduled at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Rockdale. Father Ramon Frayna will officiate.
Her pallbearers are, Dru Hettler, Arthur Boussart, Phillip Proctor, Cody Lopez, Henry Lopez, Christopher Lopez.
