Mildred M. Anderson
Greeted visitors at GMC's Bush Pavilion
Mildred M. "Millie" Anderson, 85, of Danville, and formerly of Washingtonville, passed away Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
She was born Jan. 31, 1926, in Limestone Township, Montour County, the daughter of the late George and Dorothy Shook Anderson.
She graduated from Danville High School in 1943.
She was employed as a medical secretary for 53 years for Dr. James Collins in the Department of Medicine at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. In recent years, Millie had been well known as the friendly receptionist greeting and assisting visitors at the Bush Pavilion entrance at Geisinger Medical Center.
Millie was a lifelong member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Strawberry Ridge.
She is survived by one sister, Grace Hagenbuch of Danville, and numerous cousins, including Robert Sones of Danville.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services to be held Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc., 10 W. Mahoning St., Danville, with her pastor, Shawn McNett, officiating. Burial will follow in the Turbotville Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service.
