She was born July 22, 1909, in Steamburg, the daughter of James and Edna Merchant Burr.
She was a homemaker, and a member of the Steamburg United Methodist Church. She was a former historian for the town of Coldspring, and a past member of the Steamburg Women's Society.She is survived by a son, James F. Arrance of Steamburg; two daughters: Betty J. Archer of Steamburg, and Donna M. Doud of Hornell; nine grandchildren: Tom Arrance, Allen, Paul and Charles Archer, Valerie Jackson, Theresa Chase, and LaVern, David and Dale Doud; 20 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul B. Arrance, whom she married July 30, 1927, and who died Oct. 18, 1966; two great-grandsons; two brothers: Lloyd Reeves and Leland ''Pete'' Burr; and two sisters: Mildred Cain and Lovisa Lockwood.
