Funeral services for H.F. Bredthauer, longtime Olney resident and retired merchant were held from St. Luke's Lutheran church of Olney.
Bredthauer, 73, died of a heart ailment. He had been ill five months.
He was reared near Caldwell and attended the college at Brenham. H.F. Bredthauer married Miss Lone D. Franke on 5 December 1907 at Sagerton, Haskell County, Texas.
Before moving to Olney in 1926, Bredthauer farmed at Sagerton and operated a grocery store at Haskell. He worked in the post office at Wichita Falls.
Bredthauer came to this area to work as a pumper on the Benson oil lease east of Olney. Later he opened a bakery in Olney and in 1939, bought the OK Rubber Welding business which he operated until his retirement in 1954.
Survivors: his wife; two sons - Edwin Bredthauer of Arlington, Silbert Bredthauer of De Ridder, LA; two daughters - Mrs. J.O. Kunkel of Olney; Mrs. R.T. Blakely of Oklahoma City; two brothers - Ed Bredthauer of Kansas City, Clemons Bredthauer of Sagerton; two sisters - Mrs. Lillian Fleckenstein and Miss Mary Bredthauer of Caldwell.
Rev. Alfred Schoz, pastor of St. Luke's Lutheran church officiated.
