GREEN ISLAND - Mrs. Louise Robitaille Ashcroft, 77, of Hudson Avenue, died Sunday at St. Mary's Hospital in Troy. Mrs. Ashcroft was born in New York City and moved to Green Island in 1953. A homemaker, she also worked for the state Department of Motor Vehicles and Williams Press. Mrs. Ashcroft was an Avon representative during the late 1950s and 1960s. She was a member of the Green Island Senior Citizens and was active in the former Mother's Club of St. Joseph's School. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church. Mrs. Ashcroft was the widow of Roger O. Ashcroft. Survivors include two daughters, Diane M. Rootes of Latham and Barbara Jean Ashcroft of Green Island; a son, Roger O. Ashcroft Jr. of Interlachen, Fla.; two sisters, Mildred Shepard of Troy and Alyce Frament of Cohoes; a brother, Henry Robitaille of Long Branch, N.J.; five grandchildren; and a great-grandson. The services will be held at 10:15 a.m. Thursday at the McNulty Funeral Home, 147 Hudson Ave., and at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, Cohoes. Calling hours are 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Waterford.
