He was born in Springfield on Oct. 16, 1946, the son of Ernest and Norma (Wheeler) Bratton.
Mr. Bratton graduated from Chester High School and entered the U.S. Army. He was a Vietnam veteran and a prisoner of war.
He served 14 years working for the Town of Londonderry.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and caning chairs.
He was a former member of the American Legion Post 82 in Londonderry.
Mr. Bratton is survived by his wife, Karen (Felion) Bratton of Londonderry; three sons, John Paul Bratton and his wife, Janet, of Brattleboro, Scott Bratton of Londonderry, and Tim Bratton of Chester; three daughters, Paula Bratton of Solon, Maine, Christie Pike of Brattleboro, and Brenda Mead of Bellows Falls; two brothers, Lanny Bratton of New York and Larry Bratton of Dover; four sisters, Jennifer Gosselin of Springfield, Lorraine Lee of Michigan, Mary Aremburg of Springfield, and Geri Farrar of Cavendish; and six grandchildren.
There will be no calling hours. Private burial services will be held in Windham Center Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
