The son of John Barton 1844-1920, a blacksmith in Elizabethtown, and his wife Almeda Hodges b.1853. He married Grace Jaques b.1881 by 1905 and they moved to Keene, and lived on Keem Sallust Road. No children noted, and Grace died about 1920. By 1930 he married Lennah Chase b.1881, and they lived on Market St in Keene.
