Emily"Loraine" Tenney was born in 1824 in Vermont, probably in Mendon, VT, dau of Benjamin Tenney Jr. and Emily (Hatch) Tenney. Emily Loraine was about 2 years of age when her father Benjamin died. Her mother Emily(Hatch) Tenney married 2nd a widower Ruel Parker (1792-1872) and the family resided in North Clarendon, VT. Emily Loraine married Christopher Columbus Arnold in 1845, son of Green Arnold and Sarah (Parker) Arnold. Emily Loraine and her husband Christopher Columbus Arnold moved to NY and resided in Malone, Washington County, NY. children of Emily Loraine and Chrisopher Columbus Arnold: Emily (1855-1952), William W (1849-1930), Frank (1853-), Charles Columbus (1859-1939), Marion Delmar (1861-1945). Emily Loraine's mother Emily (Hatch) Tenney-Parker and Ruel Parker had 11 children, 4 of who died young. Emily Lorain remained in close contact with her surviving Parker half siblings even after they left Vermont for Minnesota and California. Many of Lorain's letters to her mother were kept at the Parker homestead in Newport, MN and are in the possession of family descendants or in the Historical Society in Stillwater, MN. Emily Loraine (Tenney) Arnold died in 1912 and is buried in Morningside Cemetery, Malone, Franklin, NY
