Birth: 1832
Death: Mar. 31, 1905
Brasher Falls
St. Lawrence County
New York, USA

April 3.-Lorenzo Bacon passed over to the great beyond March 31, in his seventy-third year, after a long struggle with Bright's disease.

He was born in the town of Stockholm, and resided the most of his life in this county. In April 1862, he married Sarah Churchill, who survives him. Two children came to gladden their home: Mary, who is now Mrs. F. W. Elger, of Massena, and Marshal, who lives on the home farm. Eight grandchildren have been born to them, and all of his family, except one granddaughter who was ill, were at the funeral. Mr. Bacon had the distinction few have, that none spoke against his loyalty to manhood. He was a man too honest to gather many of the so-called treasurers of this life, but he made many true friends. The last services were held at the home, and although the roads were in a bad condition, many came to pay their respects to one known so well.

Those from out of town were his sister, Mrs. Henry Kingsley, Norfolk; Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Elge, son and daughter, Miss E. M. Bacon, Malone; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hall, of Massena; L. E. Mead, Potsdam, and Mr. and Mrs. George Curtis, Brookdale.

Lorenzo Bacon died of Brights disease on Friday (4/6/1905) at the Bacon homestead, where his parents died. He was the last of the family except one sister, Mrs. Henry Kingsley of Norfolk. He was 73 years of age, a quiet, sober, industrious man.

He leaves, beside his wife, two children, Mrs. Alden of Racket Bridge and a son Marcus of this place. His funeral was held on Sunday at his home, Rev. Lobb officiating.
