Funeral services for James Louie Allgood, 83, of Auburn will be Thursday, March 22, 2007, 2:00 p.m. at Fredericks Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Isaac Kervin officiating. Burial will follow in Auburn Memorial Park. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 21, 2007, 6-8:00 p.m. at Fredericks Funeral Home.
Mr. Allgood was born June 16, 1923, in Mechanicsville, Alabama, and died March 19, 2007. He was a member of the Loachapoka Baptist Church. Mr. Allgood served his country in the US Army as a decorated WWII veteran, former Adjutant Quartermaster and All American Commander for the State of Alabama Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mr. Allgood is preceded in death by grandsons, Bradley Hefner and Alan Allgood.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth B. Allgood; daughter, Annette Hefner, husband Mac; sons, Robert J. (Jimmy) Allgood, wife Debbie, William E. (Billy) Allgood, wife, Jeananne; grandchildren, Lauren Gingras, husband Danny, Jackson Allgood; great grandchildren, Bradley and Anna Scott Gingras; a brother, Robert H. Allgood, wife Martha and a number of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family request contributions be made to the Loachapoka Baptist Church.
Fredericks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
