Anna "Rönns Anna" Andersdotter
Learn about upgrading this memorial...
Birth: Dec. 25, 1806
Death: Sep. 3, 1881

Anna was from the Rönns farm and married Mats from the Kaj farm in the Borlänge area of Sweden, province of Dalecarlia (Dalarna). She was a housewife and farm housekeeper for her husband, Mats Matsson, but did not use his last name, which was the usual practice in Sweden in those days. She was also a weaver of note. One of her shawls was mentioned all the way into 3-4 generations of her descendants. Anna and Mats had seven children, but two sons died young. Through their sons Johan, Carl and Gustaf there are over 200 descendants today, a smaller amount of them in the United States. Anna and Mats moved from Rågåker village to nearby Frostbo to take care of orphaned nieces of hers and remained in that village till their deaths. As newlyweds they had also lived in Waxholm, north of Stockholm, due to her husband's military involvement then. The location of Anna Andersdotter's grave at Stora Tuna is no longer known, but the grave of her son, Carl Mattsson, is the greater family's memorial site as of 1993.
