OXFORD - Vallie Jane Lee Bailey, 90, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005, at Hermitage Gardens. She was born July 19, 1914, in Union County to the late Marion and Martha Ida Tutor Lee. She was a nurse's aide and worked at the Shands Hospital and the Union County General Hospital for more than 25 years. She was a Baptist and a longtime member of Wallerville Baptist Church in New Albany. In her later years she was a member of the Yellow Leaf Baptist Church in Oxford.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Wallerville Baptist Church with Bro. Bryan Lee Bailey officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. United Funeral Service of New Albany is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Ruthan Bailey Mullan; four grandchildren, Barbara Gail Newton, Belinda Ann Hall, Bonnie Gilbert and Bryan Lee Bailey; 10 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas S. Bailey; and a son, James Lee Bailey.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Raines, Wayne Kennedy, David Raines, Flake Foshee, Elton Kennedy, Tommy Raines, Johnny Raines and James Bailey.
