Gladys Louise Addicks, 93, passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2007 in Kruse Memorial Lutheran Village.
She was born Nov. 25, 1913 to Philip and Elizabeth Gliestein Glaser in Kenney, Texas. She was baptized Jan. 25, 1914 and confirmed April 23, 1943 in the Lutheran faith. She attended Austin County schools. On Jan. 2, 1942, she married Melvin John Addicks in St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Phillipsburg.
She retired from Sealy Mattress Company. Mrs. Addicks was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and Buddy Wright Post #48 of the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and caring for her grandchildren.
Her parents and husband, Melvin on June 26, 2004, preceded her in death.
Her loving family includes: sons, Jimmie Addicks of Houston and Donald Addicks and wife Deborah of Whitehall; daughters, Mary Ann Lehmann and husband David of Houston and Linda Priesmeyer and husband Jimmy of Brenham; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn Schomburg of Galveston and Audrey Russell of Beaumont; sister-in-law, Esther Roehling of Brenham; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday, March 16, 2007 from 6-8 p.m. in Brenham Memorial Chapel.
A funeral service will be Saturday, March 17, at 10 a.m. in Christ Lutheran Church. The Rev. Michael Button will officiate. Interment will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Christ Lutheran Church.
Pallbearers will be her 11 grandchildren.
Services are in the care of Brenham Memorial Chapel, 2300 Stringer St., Brenham, Texas.
