A native of Mississippi, he was born on September 20, 1934. He was a planner in production control at Ingalls and was a Navy veteran. A member of the Baptist faith, he died on January 30, 2004.
He was preceded in death by a son, Aaron David Holifield.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Jean Holifield; a daughter, Allison (Chris) Felts; two sons, Dennis Edward Holifield and Don (Donna) Holifield; two granddaughters, Kristen Holifield and Ariel Felts, and two grandsons, Ashler Felts and Nathan Holifield, all of Lucedale.
Interment was held in the Oak Grove Church Cemetery with Rev. Milton Robinson and Bro. Jimmie Davis officiating the services.
