Mr. Douglas Weldon Aultman, age 88, was born September 19, 1925 to the late Frank and Carrie Aultman of Sumerall, MS. He passed on July 01, 2014 at Providence Assisted Living of Batesville, MS. He grew up in Sumerall, MS where he attended school and graduated. After serving in the Navy, he attended the University of Mississippi where he earned a Masters degree in Pharmacy.
On March 29, 1950, he married Lottie Willene Knapp.
He was a registered pharmacist at Charleston Drug Store in Charleston MS, a family business they owned and operated for 39 years. While in Charleston, he was an active member of the First Baptist Church and served as chairman of the deacons, chairman of the pastor search committee and taught Sunday School. He was an active member of the Lion's Club. He leaves behind a son, Weldon (Debbie) Aultman of Indianola, MS; daughter Denise (Tony) Coy of Batesville, MS; three grandchildren, Doug Aultman of Tupelo, MS, Emily (Nate) Valdez of Hernando, MS and Hunter (Sara) Coy of Memphis, TN. He also leaves two great grandchildren, Elisha and Leanna Coy and a sister Betty (Wyndell) Varner of Madison, MS.
He was preceded in death by his wife, four sisters and three brothers.
Family will receive friends at First Baptist Church of Charleston on Thursday, July 03, 2014 from 1:30 pm until 3:00 pm. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 pm with interment to follow at Magnolia Garden Cemetery.
