Mary Ann "Pepper" Baker, 43 years, of rural Virginia, IL and formerly of Jacksonville, IL died Sunday morning at her residence.
She was born July 27, 1962 in White Hall, IL; the daughter of Wendell E. "Jake" Sr. and
Nettie Belle Stice Crain.
She is survived by a daughter, Misty Dawn Baker of Dallas City; a grandson, Darius Javon McCray of Dallas City; her mother, Nettie Belle Crain of Jacksonville; her maternal grandmother, Evelyn Matthews of Jacksonville; a brother, Wendell E. "Gene" Crain Jr. (wife, Sarah) of Nashville, TN; two sisters, Georgia Oliver (husband, Alan) of Blandinsville and Barbara Crain of Jacksonville; several nieces and nephews; and a companion, James Lamp of rural Virginia. She was preceded in death by her father.
Ms. Baker was formerly a commercial truck driver. She enjoyed riding her Harley-Davidson motorcycle and tending her collection of indoor tropical plants.
Graveside funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, June 22, 2006 at Asbury Cemetery, southeast of Jacksonville. Friends may call from 1:30 to 2:30 PM Thursday at the Gillham-Buchanan Funeral Home in Jacksonville. Memorial gifts are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
