Services for Lindsey Alexander, 84, of Columbus, formerly of Ackerman, were June 6, 2011, at Ackerman Church of God with Scott Cappleman, Jimmy Whitney and Greg Chamblee officiating. Burial was in Enon Cemetery in Ackerman.
He was born Jan. 1, 1927, in Winston County to the late Duey H. and Bealey Alexander. Mr. Alexander was one of the original founding members of the Ackerman Church of God and the retired owner of Ackerman Body Shop. He died June 3, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle.
Survivors include two sons, Danny Alexander of Starkville and Douglas Alexander of Pachuta; a stepson, Larry McBrayer of Cincinnati; two daughters, Sharon Alexander of Starkville and Barbara Hogaboom of Brooksville; three brothers, Carl Alexander of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Cedell Alexander of Louisville and Junior D. Alexander of Ypsilanti, Mich.; two sisters, Connie Cumberland of Preston and Judy Holton of Noxapater; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Ackerman Church of God, P.O. Box 738, Ackerman, MS 38735-0738.
Coleman Funeral Home of Ackerman was in charge of arrangements.
