Jamie Hamp was the son of Wade Hamp and Janie KENDALL Arbuckle.


Jamie Hamp Arbuckle, 65, of Grenada, died Friday, March 7, 1997, at his daughter's home in Duck Hill.

Mr. Arbuckle was a self-employed paint contractor and owner of Arbuckle Country Store. He was also a Baptist.

Mr. Arbuckle served in the Army from 1949-1952 in the Gun Crew of the U.S. 25th Division Artillery during the Korean War. He received five Bronze Stars and numerous other awards.

The funeral was at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 9, at Garner-Harper Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Frank Whitten and Morris Corley officiating. Burial was in Bethel Cemetery in Holcomb.

Mr. Arbuckle is survived by his wife, Doris Arbuckle of Grenada; three sons, Bo Arbuckle of Grenada, Danny W. Arbuckle of Duck Hill and Ken Arbuckle of Elliott; three daughters, Betty A. Holly of Duck Hill, Mary A. Dotson of Greenwood and Annette A. Ferguson of Grenada; two step-daughters, Janice Mann of Houston and Sherry Sartor of Starkville; two brothers, Hank Arbuckle of Ft. Myers, Fla. and Billy Arbuckle of Elliott; a sister, June Carlton of Hendersonville, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Pallbearers were Bill Ashmore, Boots Dunn, Joe Ward, Billy Ward, Sammy Ferguson and Mike Sessums.

Garner-Harper Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
