Archie Galvez of Pueblo passed away Dec. 12, 1999. He was born on Jan. 1, 1914, in Farisita, Colo. He was a farmer before joining the U.S. Army during World War II, where he was awarded a Bronze Service Star. Archie loved hunting, camping and telling stories to his friends and family. He enjoyed the company of his loved ones and always looked forward to seeing his great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Marcemeliano and Trankulina Galvez; brothers, Arthur, Edward and Diego Galvez; sisters, Martha Trujillo and Mary Archuleta; and great-granddaughter, Tamica Marie Espinoza. Archie was highly devoted to his wife of 53 years, Susie. Also survived by his sisters, Rachel Trujillo, Victoria Galvez, Stella (Dan) Carper and Florence (Frank) Catalano; brothers, Louis (Ruby) Galvez, Delfino (Linda) Galvez and Robert (Sue) Galvez; children, Cecilia (Thomas) Sandoval, Gloria Galvez, Katie (Frank) Aragon, Catherine (Rick) Banks, Debbie Galvez (Joe Gifford) and Lorraine Galvez; grandchildren, John (Shanda) Sandoval, Mary Sandoval, Michael Sandoval, Candice (Ward) Newman, Mark Banks, Juan Banks, Samuel Espinoza Jr., Jeanette Banks and Gabriel Sandoval; great-grandchildren, Leroy A. Newman, Hope A. Newman and Summer M. Sandoval;
numerous nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Rick, and his Perrita Ducky. Recitation of the rosary, 7 p.m. Thursday, Rose Chapel. Memorial service, 10 a.m. Saturday, Rose Chapel. Interment to follow at Valdez Cemetery, Turkey Creek, Colorado.
