A personal statement by Mildred. My mother's maiden name was Webb, but her father passed away when she was a few months old and my grandma remarried Woodruff. My mom was never adopted but went by that name so applied for her marriage license with Woodruff. It wasn't until their 40th anniversary that we discovered she had done that. By then, they had been together long enough everything was legal! The date was July 13, 1938.
