A family member wrote to say that the correct last name is ALLUM as is on the civilian stone rather then ALLEN as is on the military stone. They are side by side in the cemetery plot.

=======================
In 1830, Jesse was about 2 & lived with his parents in Bedminster, PA. In 1840, they were in Haycock, PA. In 1850, Jesse was 22 & was working as a weaver & was back in Bedminster, PA. They have his parents names as Jacob & Hannah Allum. I found his mother, though she was married to someone else. Not sure if that all is correct. In 1850 he was living with his parents & siblings.
Brothers: John 19, Francis 15 & Jacob 2
Sisters: Maria 11, Leah Ann 7 & Hannah Emma 5.
