His name was Franz J. Albers when he married Elizabeth Rheinchild November 23, 1875 at Bismarck, Saguache County, Colorado. [This information comes from the first Book of Marriages, p. 25, Certificate No. 37.]
The following death notice/obituary appeared in the Saguache "Chronicle," September 14, 1878, p. 3:
At his residenc, [sic] on Major Creek, on Monday, Evening, September 9th, of Pneumonia, Mr. Frank Albers, in the 35th year of his age. [His stone says 43 years 11 months!] The deceased, was a native of Germany; has been a resident of this state for several years; and since the year 1870, and up to the time of his death, has resided on Major Creek, on the east side of the valley, where he has been engaged, as a partner, with Mr. John Schilling, in the ranching and stock business. During his residence in this county, he had made many warm friends, in the neighborhood where he resided, who deeply regret his loss, all of whom, testified their appreciation of his many good qualities, as a neighbor, and a good citizen, by their attendance upon him, in his last illness. Mr. Albers, was married in this county, about the 20th of November, in the year 1875, and leaves a wife, and a child, about two years of age, who will feel deeply his loss. He was followed to his last resting place, in the cemetery at Saguache, on last Wednesday, by a number of his acquaintances and friends."
