Del Norte resident Elizabeth Aguilar, 53, passed away April 26, 2013 at the Del Norte Hospital in Del Norte surrounded by her loving family.
Elizabeth was born October 24, 1959, in Del Norte, Colorado, the daughter of Augustine Pena and Evelyn Benavides Pena. She was united in marriage to Jose Luis Aguilar on October 7, 1978 in Center, Colorado, she enjoyed going to bingo, dancing, listening to music and especially spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Survivors include her mother Donaciana Benavides of Del Norte, her husband Jose Luis Aguilar of Del Norte, CO; her daughter Carmen (Michael) Hernandez of Monte Vista, CO; grandchildren Gracemarie and Mikel Hernandez of Monte Vista, CO; sisters Tina (Miguel) Beltran of Fort Morgan, CO; Bernadette (Hector) Prieto of Del Norte, CO; Marcella (Richard) Samora of Monte Vista, CO; brother Ross (Deborah) Peña of Alamosa, CO; she is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents Augustine & Evelyn Pena, sister Clara Montoya and brother Lee Pena.
A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church in Del Norte, Colorado. A Memorial Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2013, at 10:00 AM also at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church in Del Norte. Inurnment will follow at the Del Norte Cemetery. Arrangements are in care of Romero Funeral Home of Monte Vista.
